Bruce Chizen, Adobe Systems Incorporated

Bruce Chizen, president and Chief Executive Officer of Adobe Systems Incorporated, has been at the forefront of the technology industry for nearly 20 years. Named CEO in December of 2000, Chizen has unveiled Adobe's Network Publishing vision and is driving the company's financial and technological success in the new millennium. As former executive vice president of worldwide products and marketing, Chizen closely aligned marketing functions and product development to effectively respond to market dynamics with customer-focused solutions. At Adobe since 1994, he has defined marketing solutions and led the development of products as vice president and general manager of both the graphics professional and consumer divisions.

Chizen started his career in the consumer electronics business during the first wave of growth in the video game market. From 1980 to 1983, he helped MatteI Electronics grow to a $500 million business. In 1983, Chizen joined Microsoft Corporation as eastern region sales director. In 1987 he joined Claris Corporation as a founding senior manager of the Apple Computer start-up and held vice president of sales and worldwide marketing positions before becoming vice president and general manager of Claris Clear Choice. He revamped the fledgling publishing division and acquired the key products of Rick Smolan’s groundbreaking CD-ROM “From Alice to Ocean.” During his tenure, Claris's market capitalization exceeded $150 million. Chizen holds a bachelor's degree from Brooklyn College, City University of New York and serves on the board of directors for the Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose and Synopsys, Inc.
