In January 2002, his role as President and CEO of Entrust was expanded to Chairman and CEO.

When Mr. Conner joined Entrust as President and CEO in April 2001, he immediately reset the company's priorities in order to regain momentum and return to profitability. Mr. Conner changed the business model by focusing on governments, financial institutions and the global 1500s; moves that helped Entrust regain competitiveness as a global leader in Internet security. Before Mr. Conner joined Entrust, he held various senior executive positions at Nortel Networks, including president of Nortel Enterprise Networks and e-Business Solutions where he successfully turned around the global $5 billion business. Mr. Conner also served as president of Nortel's first Enterprise Data Networks line of business and served as the first chief marketing officer, where he orchestrated for Nortel its $9 billion acquisition of Bay Networks. Mr. Conner worked his way through Princeton University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to joining Nortel, Mr. Conner served in various management positions at AT&T.; He earned a Master's degree in Business Administration from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
