Javier Pérez Mazatán, e-Mexico National System, Ministry of Communication and Transportation, Mexico
Javier Pérez Mazatán is Deputy Director of the e-Mexico National System, the Mexican public policy designed to drive and allow the country's transition towards the information and knowledge society, throughout the coordination of digital services implementation for the citizen of the 21st century. He is responsible for strategic and technology planning.
He has more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications and information technologies as top executive in companies such as PeopleSoft, Lotus Development Corporation, and Mexicana Airlines. His areas of expertise are strategic information technology planning, technology transformation initiatives, such as systems integration, ERP / CRM / ASP'S and telecommunications systems implementations, and operations planning, in both customer-side and supplier-side.
As a CIO, he has been responsible for more than 300 people and a budget of over $60-million providing effective business solutions, always aware of the financial perspective and the human side of the projects as critical success factors.
He studied communications and electronic engineering at the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico, has a Masters Degree in Computer Sciences from the Research Institute in Applied Mathematics and Systems of the Mexican Autonomous National University. He has participated in a large number of courses and seminars in Mexico and in other parts of the world, focused mainly in information technology, strategic planning, executive administration, automation and telecommunications.
