Thomas E. Noonan, Internet Security Systems Incorporated
Thomas E. Noonan is the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Internet Security Systems, Inc. Tom Noonan and Chris Klaus launched Internet Security Systems in early 1995 to commercialize and develop Internet Security Systems into the premier network security management company. Under his leadership, revenue has soared from $250,000 dollars in 1995 to over $200 million dollars in five years, and has grown to over 1200 employees today, operating in 18 countries.
Prior to Internet Security Systems, Noonan held senior management positions while at Dun and Bradstreet Software, including Vice President, Worldwide Marketing, Host Systems Program Director, and National Sales Manager. Prior to D&B; Software he specialized in advanced, automatic control systems for computer integrated manufacturing. Noonan founded two successful technology companies while in Boston -- Actuation Electronics, a precision motion control company, and Leapfrog Technologies, a software development tools company for networked applications. Mr. Noonan was appointed by President Bush to the newly formed National Infrastructure Advisory Council (NIAC), as part of homeland defense, which addresses issues surrounding the security of information systems that support the nation's critical infrastructure. Noonan holds a mechanical engineering degree from Georgia Tech and a business degree from Harvard University.
